DAY 1 - SAN JOSE

Upon arrival to international airport our driver-guide will pick you up and will take you to the Crown Corobicí hotel for overnight.  We will welcome you and give you all documents concerning your trip such as:  itinerary, vouchers, brochures and 2 bottles of water.

Excellently located just 15 minutes away from Juan Santa María International Airport & 5 minutes away from the San José Capital City. Five star hotel with 213 rooms recently renovated. DAY 2 - DEPARTURE TO DRAKE BAY

Today, our driver will pick you up and will take you to the airport for a local flight to Drakebay. We will inform later flight departure. Upon arrival to Drake, a boat from Aguila de Osa or Copa de Arbol or Drakebay Getaway hotel will meet you and will take you to their properties according to your choice. During the 3 nights in this area you will enjoy the 2 main tours which are: Hiking tour at Corcovado National Park and Snorkeling tour at Caño Island.

As one of the last remaining areas of Costa Rica still untouched by large developments, vacationing in Drake Bay is a truly unique experience. Drake Bay (Bahía Drake) is on the southern Pacific side of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. Famed for its incredible diversity of animal and plant life, the Osa Peninsula is perfect for the nature-lover, the adventure tourist and those looking for a relaxing or romantic getaway in paradise.

Drakebay Getaway

Our hotel is located in Drake Bay, a popular ecotourism destination in the famous Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica.
Our resort is home to the first and only public butterfly garden in the entirety of Costa Rica’s Osa Peninsula. Guests and locals can experience these fascinating creatures up close in our dedicated habitat of native plants.
At Drake Bay Butterfly Garden, you can learn about the incredible lifecycle and transformation of the famous Blue Morpho, the nocturnal Owl butterfly, and other fascinating species while you take a tour through our beautiful garden filled with exotic plants. You may even get a chance to watch a butterfly hatch!

DAY 3 - CORCOVADO NATIONAL PARK

Tours during your stay will be arranged according to weather conditions. You will have Corcovado National Park and Caño Island.

San Pedrillo is the closest Corcovado National Park Ranger Station to Drake Bay, located 1:30 minute boat ride from Drake Bay. This beautiful area offers possible sightings of dolphins and other marine and aquatic marine life, passing an island nesting spot for the Brown Booby. Our arrival at the beach location of the Corcovado National Park is a wet landing, so bring your sandals in addition to sturdier footwear for the trails through the National Park. Our bilingual naturalist guide will lead a 3 hour hike through the primary and secondary forest, locating and explaining the extensive rainforest wildlife and flora. The rich biological diversity of the Corcovado National Park is astounding, and sightings may include as many as 4 types of monkeys, as well as coatis, sloths, anteaters, and much more. Bird lovers will be enchanted by a wide variety of birds, including tanagers, flycatchers, kingfishers, manakins, trogons, crested guans, and spectacular scarlet macaws and toucans.

DAY 4 - CAÑO ISLAND

Caño Island is located 12 nautical miles from Drake Bay. Departure for this tour is at 8.00 am. During the scenic boat ride, which lasts approximately 1 ½ hrs , enjoy mangrove forest frequent sightings of dolphins, marine birds, as well as — in season — whales, false orcas and sea turtles. The 600 acre island is a significant historical archaeological site for Costa Rica, where two of the miraculous and mysterious perfectly round spheres from the pre-Colombian era were discovered along with other historical items. Caño Island is an ideal spot for snorkeling, swimming, and relaxing. Two trails are available for light hiking, the first leading to the site of many of the archaeological discoveries, where a few representative artifacts still remain, and the second to a beautiful lookout on the south side of the island. Aquatic life around the island is spectacular, and snorkelers will find a broad and colorful spectrum of Pacific Coast reef fish – triggerfish, trumpetfish, damselfish, parrotfish, angelfish, puffers, among many others — as well as rays and sea turtles.

DAY 5 - MANUEL ANTONIO / MARIPOSA HOTEL

Early breakfast and boat transfer to Sierpe River. Around 10:30 a.m. shuttle transportation service to Manuel Antonio directly to Mariposa Hotel where you will stay 3 nights at an ocean view room. Hotel La Mariposa in Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica is magnificently perched on an elevation, overlooking the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean, the city of Quepos and Manuel Antonio National Park. The scenery of ocean, rainforest and sky is stunning. It is just part of the special mix of energy and magic that has enchanted and made La Mariposa such a beloved place to thousands of guests throughout the years.

DAY 6 & 7 - MANUEL ANTONIO PARK

One of these days you will enjoy an exciting hiking tour at one of the most beautiful parks of Costa Rica, Manuel Antonio Park After breakfast, a guide will pick you up and will offer a walking tour through the Manuel Antonio National Park. This park has four interesting geomorphologic features. The first one is the tombolo at Punta Catedral. The second feature is the blowhole at Puerto Escondido, the third one is Punta Serrucho and the fourth one is the pre-Columbian underwater turtle trap at the western tip of Manuel Antonio Beach. The main habitats in the park are primary forest, secondary forest, mangrove swamps, which cover 18 hectares, and small herbaceous swamps and open water lagoons scattered throughout the interior. The park houses a variety of wildlife, including 109 species of mammals and 184 species of birds. Back to your hotel. Free afternoon to enjoy at the beach, why not, take an optional tour or just relax and drink a cocktail while you enjoy the refreshing swimming pool of the hotel. Overnight.

DAY 8 - ARENAL VOLCANO

Breakfast included. Shuttle transportation service to Arenal Volcano. Lodging will be offered at the 4 stars, Arenal Springs Hotel, junior suite for 3 nights. Arenal Springs hotel definitely rates as a very classy hotel, maintaining a special balance of elegance harmonious with nature. Peace, tranquility and privacy of its guest were very important to the owners when designing the rooms. And it is much appreciated and felt while staying at this lovely hotel.

The view to the Arenal Volcano is impressive. Each suite is designed to give its guest the most impressive views to the Volcano. Allowing everyone the honor of enjoying Gods remarkable creation. The manicured gardens are refuge to many species of butterflies and birds native to the Arenal area.

DAY 9 - ARENAL VOLCANO

Breakfast included. Today you can chose one of the following activities:

Tour Hanging bridges Arenal

This amazing project is located in a wonderful rain forest preserve with 250 hectares protected land. You can go into the natural paradise along walking trail of three kilometers passing 15 bridges, six of them are hanging bridges with an spectacular design as a secure – enjoyable adventure to see the forest from the ground (like a Jaguar) from the middle (like as Monkey) and from the treetops (like an Eagle)… One of our hanging bridges is called The Waterfall Bridge and is over 60 meters high off the ground. Another one is called The Tyra Bridge and is 98 meters long, just to give you an idea. In this heaven of nature you can find over 250 species of birds, including some like: The White Hawk, Great Curassow, Rufous Motmot, Rufous-tailed Jacamar, Black-throated Trogon, and many others…

Horseback riding to the Fortuna waterfall
Horseback riding and hike to the La Fortuna waterfall is an exciting morning or afternoon activity. Enjoy a pleasant horseback ride through pasture and rainforest for about an hour, keep your eyes peeled for toucans, monkeys and other creatures of the rainforest.
After the initial ride you will hike down to the La Fortuna Waterfall, a 200ft (65m) spectacle of cascading stream of fresh rainforest water. Bring a bathing suite and you will be able to enjoy one of the most refreshing experiences in Costa Rica, a swim in the fresh, slightly chilly waters of the rainforest.

Safari Float in Canoa

We start with a brief 20 minute drive to the lower Peñas Blancas River in an air-conditioned van. From there we launch inflatable rafts on this slower moving section of the river. Enjoy a relaxing 2 hour float with no motor, only the incredible sounds of nature around you. The expert bilingual naturalist guide will describe the many different flora and fauna of the region. Along the way it is possible to see 2 species of sloth’s, monkeys, 3 species of Toucans, crocodiles, Jesus Christ Lizards, caimans, different colored iguanas, mammals, and a variety of birds.
The second part of the tour includes a stop at the farm of Don Pedro Farm. This is the highlight of the trip for most tourists. Shake his hand; calloused from many years of hard work. He has endured 65 years on what most considered useless farmland, and without roads, electricity, or running water. Our guide will translate as you enjoy a visit with this fascinating man. His family will prepare wonderful Tico snacks for you to enjoy.

DAY 10 - ARENAL VOLCANO/ DAY AT LEISURE

Breakfast included. Free day to enjoy at this beautiful hotel or for taking any other optional tour such as Hiking to Arenal Park, Sky trek, White Water Rafting, among many others.
We suggest taking the time to enjoy the hotel facilities which includes several pools with hot springs, beautiful gardens, Spa , wet bar, etc.

DAY 11 - TORTUGUERO NATIONAL PARK / PACHIRA LODGE

Around 5:00 a.m. We leave your hotel in Arenal with destination to our beautiful Caribbean Coast.
You will be taken to Guapiles to El Ceibo Restaurant where you will enjoy a typical breakfast and will be met later by an English speaking guide from Pachira Lodge. Be our special guest in a banana processing and packing plant and learn more about one of Costa Rica’s prime products (subject to availability). Board a comfortable boat upon arrival to the port and let this extraordinarily exotic paradise enchant you, as you travel along the Tortuguero Canals. Have a one-in-a-lifetime experience in this unique place surrounded by a great variety of flora and fauna of breathtaking beauty…A refreshing cocktail and delicious lunch will welcome you to PACHIRA LODGE. After lunch, a visit to the museum, the beach area and the small and picturesque town of Tortuguero is included.

DAY 12 - PACHIRA LODGE HOTEL B-L-D

6:30 a.m. Optional morning tour: Enjoy nature at its best as you undertake a journey through the canals, a network of navigable waterways of great scenic beauty crosses the park from southeast to northwest. The canals and marshes are the habitat of 7 species of tortoise. They also provide shelter to the endangered West Indian manatee (Trichchus Manatus) and the rare crocodile (Crocodylus acutus). Back to the lodge for breakfast. Get ready to hike Tortuguero Hill or travel along the well-known Tortuguero Canals and have the experience of your life in this unique paradise of magnificent flora and fauna. . After lunch, take your time to enjoy our private trails, ride a boat through the canals, swim at our turtle-shaped swimming pool, or just relax. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 13 - PUERTO VIEJO / LE CAMELEÓN

Breakfast included. Around 9:00 a.m. boat transfer to the dock and land transportation to Siquirres where a shuttle transportation service will pick you up and will take you to the beautiful South Caribbean. Lodging at the exclusive Le Cameleon Hotel, deluxe room.

The Cahuita National Park has an extension of 2,732 terrestrial acres and 55,200 marine acres. The park protects beaches and lowlands of the southern Caribbean coastal region of Costa Rica. Scuba and snorkeling are allowed in the protected marine area, which contains a coral reef and associated sea life. The southern beach is a known nesting ground for several varieties of sea turtle.

Many coral and fish species are found in the waters. Lobster, white shrimp, crabs, green turtle and various crustaceans are part of what you will see.
Inland the fauna is also abundant: howler monkeys, raccoon, white-nosed coati, a vast variety of birds, etc, inhabit the park. This area has maintained its natural charm. If you love nature, this is one place you will enjoy.
The tour included a guided hike in the park and snorkeling tour, lunch and entrance fee.

DAY 14 - DAY AT LEISURE
